First Aid for the outdoors in Scotland

Upcoming courses.

I'll be running open 2 day (16 hr) courses throughout 2010. My next courses will be taking place in Aberfoyle on 6-7 March, 10-11 April, 29-30 May and 17-18 July at a cost of £95 per person. Click here for more information.

Why choose me?

As a first aid trainer who is also a keen paddler, climber, biker and walker, I can tailor first aid courses to the specific needs of your activity.

Principles not Rules

I believe in teaching principles - not rules. In the outdoors when help might be many hours away, your best course of action is affected by the weather, your kit, your group, your whereabouts to mention just a few factors. In real life, the answer is almost always "it depends....".

Learning by doing

The best way to learn first aid is by doing first aid. We'll spend as much time as possible actively dealing with mock incidents.

Nationally recognised

I certify my courses through an HSE approved provider. They will validate qualifications with BCU, MLT, RYA and SMBLA.

If there are a group of you wanting first aid training then you can book a private course. You can choose your own dates and I can travel to you. For groups of 5 or more it's not just more convenient, it's cheaper too. A 2 day course with up to twleve particpants will typically cost you £450. You provide a venue and I'll provide everything else.
